The following discounts are available to purchase in advance online.


How to claim your Discount

York Card (20% off)

This discount is available for the York Card holder only. You must show a valid York Card on arrival. 

This discount does not apply to the Pastport or event tickets.


We are pleased to offer free entry for carers, who are assisting someone during their visit. 

If you have a carer’s card or some similar ID then you can bring this with you, but if not, then please do not worry; we understand that not everyone who requires assistance will have a formal document.

Carer tickets are in the standard price tickets section.

Returning Visitors

(tickets valid for 12 months)

Most of our tickets are valid for 12 months so you can visit multiple times. Please select the Gift Aid option if you Gift Aided on your original purchase, or Non Gift Aid option if you did not.

Return visits are available for all members of your original party, but tickets are not transferable. You must bring your original ticket and ID with you.

York Pass

You can reserve a time online but must present a valid York Pass, on arrival, which will be redeemed at the door.

MAX Card

A MAX card is free entry for up to 2 adults and 2 children.Please use the Free Adult and Free Child options to reserve a time, and bring your MAX card with you.

These are our most commonly used discount, and can be purchased online – if you have another voucher or discount that is not listed here, please ask for more information ([email protected] or 01904 615505) before purchasing tickets. 

We also offer discount for English Heritage members on the door.

English Heritage member (2 for 1)

(Incl. Cadw & Historic Scotland)

You must show valid English Heritage Membership

card for each member of the party. 

Other schemes which offer free entry to English Heritage sites (e.g. Barclays Premier, CSSC) are not eligible for this offer. Not available on family or joint attraction tickets.

This discount does not apply to the Pastport or event tickets.

We are not able to apply discounts after you have placed a booking, or after you have purchased tickets on the door.

Anyone who would like to claim a discount will be asked for proof of eligibility on arrival. If you cannot provide this, you will be charged for the standard ticket price.
